From the Streets to Success.
The full story, told properly. It isn't a misery memoir, and it doesn't stop at the inspiring bit. It ends with what I did next, and what that asks of everyone listening.

A story that earns the right to ask something.
Knives at fifteen. Robbed for £3.20 at seventeen. Six months sleeping under a table in a mosque shop. A stranger called Jane who tied her scarf around my leg after I was stabbed, paid for my cab, and disappeared before I could thank her.
And then, years later, Clarence House.
I tell it the way it happened: the fear, the shame, the moments I nearly gave up. I don't glamorise any of it, because there's nothing glamorous about it. What makes the room lean in isn't the drama. It's the moment they realise the decisions I had to make are the same ones they're facing, just with different stakes.
It's your decisions, not your conditions, that determine your destiny.
Three lessons from the street.
Know who you don't want to be
You don't need a perfect vision to start. On that bus I didn't know who I wanted to be, but I knew who I didn't. For most people stuck in a pattern, that's the first honest step.
Meet your needs a better way
Gang life met every human need I had: belonging, respect, certainty, excitement. That's why it works. You can't argue people out of a pattern. You have to offer them a better way to meet the same needs, at work as much as on the street.
Small successes stack
I didn't change my life in a day. It started with one prayer, then clearing weeds nobody asked me to clear, then carpentry. Personal bests, not comparisons. Stack enough of them and the big things arrive.

The feedback afterwards was overwhelmingly positive.
