Home/Mental health keynote speaker

Mental health keynote speaker who makes it practical.

I call it mental fitness: training your mind with the same daily discipline you'd give your body. For lunch and learns, wellbeing weeks, World Mental Health Day and staff conferences, I give your people an honest story they'll relate to, and simple tools they can use the same day.

Why me

Why my mental fitness talks land.

I talk about it from the inside.

The night I won a Pride of Britain Award, I went home and wanted to cry myself to sleep. Imposter syndrome, money worries and a low I'd never put a name to before. I share what that felt like, and what got me through it.

Tools, not just awareness.

Awareness is the start, not the finish. Your people leave with habits they can use straight away: my five Fs journal, breathwork for managing their state under pressure, and how to change the story they tell themselves.

It reaches the people who don't usually talk.

Many people, especially men, don't talk enough about how they're doing. A story from the streets, told with humour and honesty, opens conversations that a slide deck never will.

What organisers say

The people who booked me went first.

“He took the time to understand what we were trying to achieve and tailored his delivery expertly to the people in the room. He made a personal connection with everyone, leading to the best feedback we have received for a keynote speaker.”
Phillip RobertsSenior Safety Leader, National Grid
“The room was filled with 150 people from our tech and product teams, people who are notoriously reserved and often introverted. We couldn't have anticipated the response. We've had nothing but positive feedback ever since.”
Roisin CoxEvent organiser, Citation Group
“It was refreshing to have Omar deliver our first external paid keynote at The Trade Desk London. The value was clear, the engagement was incredible, and the frameworks were directly applicable to our day-to-day work.”
Tom AndrewsSenior Director, The Trade Desk

Questions

Before you book.

Can you speak for World Mental Health Day or Mental Health Awareness Week?

Yes. I speak at awareness days, wellbeing weeks and staff conferences, in person or live online. If your date is close, check it now and I'll tell you within one working day whether I'm free.

Do you run mental health lunch and learns?

Yes. A 45 minute lunch and learn is one of the most popular ways HR and people teams book this session, in a meeting room, hybrid or fully on Teams or Zoom. I'll also send you a short blurb for your intranet or Slack invite.

What do you mean by mental fitness?

It's how I talk about mental health in a way people can act on. Like physical fitness, it's built through small daily habits: how you breathe, what you focus on, the story you tell yourself and who you let support you.

Is it suitable for corporate and professional services audiences?

Yes. Pressure, targets, long hours and imposter syndrome are as real in accountancy, law, finance and tech as anywhere. I tailor every talk after a call about your people and what they're carrying.

Are you a qualified mental health professional?

No, and I'm clear about that. I'm not a clinician and I don't replace professional support. I speak from lived experience and twenty years of personal development, and I always encourage people to get the help they need. Many organisations pair my keynote with their employee assistance programme or mental health first aiders.

Where can I hear you talk about mental health first?

Listen to my episode of The High Performance Podcast with Jake Humphrey and Professor Damian Hughes, on my About page. It covers the low after Pride of Britain, my daily journal and why men need to talk more.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on the format, length and location. Send the details through the form, we'll have a short call, and you'll have a clear quote straight after.
