Developing Your Mental Fitness.

Train your mind like you train your body. A practical mental health session for HR and people teams to bring in-house: a lunch and learn, a wellbeing week or a talk for the whole company. An honest story, and four daily habits your team will actually use.

The problem

Awareness isn't the problem. Practice is.

Your people already know mental health matters. The posters go up, the webinar runs, the EAP number goes in the newsletter, and on Monday nothing has changed. Not because they don't care, but because nobody showed them what to actually do at seven in the morning when their head is loud.

I learned that the hard way. The night I won a Pride of Britain Award, I was in a room full of famous faces. The next day I was alone, exhausted and wondering why the thing I'd chased hadn't fixed anything. Imposter syndrome, money worries and a low I'd never put a name to.

What got me through wasn't one big breakthrough. It was small, unglamorous, daily training.

You'd never expect to get physically fit from one session. Your mind works the same way.

What we cover

Four habits for a fitter mind.

  1. The story you tell yourself

Imposter syndrome is a blueprint mismatch: the story you hold about yourself doesn't match the life in front of you. How to notice that story, and rewrite it.

  2. The five Fs

The one-page journal I write every day: thankful, feeling, focusing, fearing and forgiving. Five minutes that change how the whole day goes.

  3. State management

How to go from wound up to steady in seconds, using breath, posture and focus. Useful before a tough meeting, a difficult conversation or a deadline.

  4. Don't do it alone

Why so many people, especially men, carry it in silence, and how to make asking for help feel normal in your team.

For HR and people teams

Easy to book. Easy to get people to turn up.

You're the one who has to fill the room, justify the budget and make sure it lands with everyone from the graduates to the leadership team. So I make that part simple.

Fits your wellbeing calendar

World Mental Health Day in October, Stress Awareness Month in April, Mental Health Awareness Week in May, Time to Talk Day, International Men's Day, or simply a Tuesday lunchtime.

Works for the room you've got

A lunch and learn in the boardroom, a hybrid session with half the team on Teams, a breakout at your away day, or the whole company at once.

Safe for everyone in it

Nobody is asked to share anything personal. I do the sharing. The session points people to the support you already offer, like your EAP and Mental Health First Aiders.

Something to take back to their desk

Everyone leaves with the five Fs journal page and a breathing technique for stressful moments, so it doesn't end when the sandwiches do.

Help with the invite

I'll send you a short description and blurb for your intranet, Slack or Teams post, so people know what they're signing up for.

A planning call first

We talk about your people, what they're carrying and anything sensitive I should know, so the session fits your culture.

Outcomes

Your people leave with.

  • A five minute daily practice they can start the next morning
  • A breathing technique for the moments that matter
  • Language that makes it easier to say "I'm not okay"
  • A clear reminder of the support your organisation already offers

The best feedback we have received for a keynote speaker.

“He took the time to understand what we were trying to achieve and tailored his delivery expertly to the people in the room. He made a personal connection with everyone, leading to the best feedback we have received for a keynote speaker.”
Phillip RobertsSenior Safety Leader, National Grid

The value was clear, and the engagement was incredible.

“It was refreshing to have Omar deliver our first external paid keynote at The Trade Desk London. The value was clear, the engagement was incredible, and the frameworks were directly applicable to our day-to-day work.”
Tom AndrewsSenior Director, The Trade Desk

A note on what this is and isn't: I'm not a clinician and this isn't therapy. I speak from lived experience and twenty years of personal development. The session sits alongside your EAP and Mental Health First Aiders, and often gets people using them.
